Head of House
After just three short terms on staff, Professor Moxley (aka the Moxinator!) has completely captivated our hearts and minds with her ingenuity and utter warmth! In fact, it's most appropriate for her to head the house best known for its accepting, kind, ooey-gooey nature. Hufflepuff is love, as they say. Though she might've once been a Lion, this joyful woman has made the black and gold shine beneath her tutelage. SO, yes. The whole of our school knows and loves her, now let's learn a bit more about her exciting first term as Head Badger in Charge!
1. Hello, Professor Moxley. I just want to start by saying I'm a huge fan of yours and thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview. Ahem, so...Hufflepuff Head of House. Head Badger. Were you excited to snag the position?
That is so sweet of you! I'm always willing to take time out of my schedule to chat with a student so it's no problem at all. As for how I felt when Botros popped the head of house question, I was happier than a bargain shopper on black friday (That's a muggle day of sales, by the way)! It's a big job but someone's got to do it and I was happy to step up to the proverbial plate. Never back down to a challenge is what I always say!
2. You're certainly a joyful addition to the house, I'm sure! Which brings us to...with yourself and Professor Culloden both being new to Hufflepuff leadership this term, what was it like finding your own footing and working with him? Or did this whole thing just come naturally?
What some of you students might not know is that Professor Culloden is really a teddy bear deep down inside. The man's kind as can be and so smart, not to mention that we're both parents. This was something which we could bond over and I found it easy to fall into a comfortable partnership with him. I'm happy to say we're good friends now. Kind of the dream team as far as partnerships go!
3. Professor Culloden does seem like a very lovely man. Considering you share this title with your Muggle Studies one, did any conflict of interests arise this year? How are you able to separate the two?
When you're the head of house, you want your students to do well. The urge to cheer for them during class competitions did make things difficult because I'm meant to be an objective party but that house loyalty sneaks up on you, I tell you. Still, I'm a professional and I managed! That's just what you do.
4. All of your lessons seemed very fair, in my opinion. So, kudos! I know it must've been hard. Has there been anything invaluable that your Badgers have taught you so far?
Two of my badgers taught me how fun running a detention could be this term! The rest of you lot can thank those two gentlemen for a tougher Moxley in the future. They also taught me how powerful kindness can be. I've felt at home with those badgers from the second I stepped into this new role and it has everything to do with their welcoming spirit.
5. I shall call you the Steel Moxinator now. Moving forward, what can Hufflepuff House expect from the Moxinator next?
A few surprises, a lot more awesomeness, and a good term. No deaths on my watch, y'hear? I'm going to see to that!

Prefects
After seven wonderful terms, four of which were spent as Hufflepuff's leading man, Aditya Rehman is bidding adieu to Hogwarts! Graduations are always tough, but for this exceptionally positive badger, they cannot come soon enough. Yep, the boy we lovingly refer to as "Adi" has BIG dreams, and he's ready to get started. He was kind enough to sit down with us and answer a few questions, even with those nastily exhausting examinations looming overhead. Is there anything this boy cannot manage?
Read on to find out about his seventh (and final) year.
1. Gosh, I know you must be so swamped since you do sit your NEWTs this week, but we greatly appreciate your time! So, this was it! The final term. What was it like back in September, stepping onto the Hogwarts Express to return for the last time?
Hey! Yes, I am. It’s been hectic, but I welcome the break for this interview. It was bittersweet because I could hardly believe seven years had passed. I didn’t want that to have been the last train journey to Hogwarts but at the same time, I was looking at the situation knowing that I would be one step closer to getting started on my career.
2. I definitely understand those feels. Also, you were so lucky to have Professor Moxley and Professor Culloden to work with as far as the Hufflepuff Leadership goes. Would you say you were able to develop lasting friendships with the both of them?
I would certainly say so. Especially with Professor Culloden since he spent a great deal of time helping me to better my Potions knowledge… and pranking me by turning me into a leprechaun earlier in the term.
3. I keep hearing nothing but great things about that man. So, what's it been like working with the lovely Norah Kittredge this year?
It was awesome! She's so bouncy and full of life. Working with someone with those traits is always great. I’d like to thank her for that and to let the next Hufflepuff male Prefect know how lucky he is having the chance to work with her.
4. That was very sweet of you to say! Ahem, there were many fun and innovative camps throughout this term. Did you have a favorite to attend?
Yes! The Winter Camp since I enjoy the snow and colder weathers, in general. Building snow dragons was a blast!
5. Speaking of special events, what was it like planning the Spirit Festival? How did it compare to other Prefect events you have been involved with?
As usual, it was fun. It’s one of the things that I’ll miss after graduating; all the creative ideas that everyone comes up with. Then there’s the actual setting up for the event which is always one of the best parts. It was different because this was my last one; not just for planning but in general at Hogwarts.
6. You guys seemed to have a very cohesive team, too. So, be honest! Were you seriously fangirling Professor Thereos during that seminar? I mean, I was.
No, I wasn’t. I think he disliked me because I accidentally said something he found offensive and I don’t think fangirling would actually have helped. I really did enjoy the seminar otherwise, though.
7. Oh, well, I'm glad you enjoyed it all the same. Sans that seminar, were there any other lessons you were particularly excited about?
Definitely! The Astronomy field trip. Does that count as a lesson? Anyway, there’s Potions, as usual, as well as Care of Magical Creatures.
8. I wished we'd of had more Creatures lessons this term, myself. Are there any specific memories from your seven terms here that will resound with you as you go forward in life?
There are loads from each year but to give an idea, they include making so many friends, being picked as one of the students to lead Hufflepuff, cheering for Benny and my House during Quidditch matches, the term Hufflepuff won both the House and Gobstones Cups, and, of course, each and every one of the Gobstones matches I took part in.
9. Those are all equally great! So, is there any specific advice you wish to pass along to all the Hufflepuffs you'll leave behind?
Yep, I’d like to let them know to just keep being themselves and to keep working hard. I am, and always will be, proud of them all.
10. In conclusion, because I know you're busy...what's next for Aditya Rehman?
Well, first there’s University for me (where I’ll be studying Magizoology and Potions) while I’ll also be working to get started on my Hippogriff breeding career. I'm planning to help Benny set up his Dragon reserve, too. And to top all that off, I'm joining the Professional Gobstones League; playing for the Hereford Hippogriffs after my first year at University. I just really hope to achieve my goals and enjoy life with my other half.

When one thinks of sunshine and rainbows, the very lovely face of Ms. Norah Kittredge should automatically come to mind. You know, if it doesn't already! Not only is this girl one of the nicest around, she's also super brilliant; handling both her studies and Prefect duties with style and grace. Sporting a sizable green-thumb, we can be sure to see her name in many Plant and Flora textbooks in the coming years. Well, perhaps not immediately (as she's only a fifth year), but her time will come. She was wonderful enough to step away from her last minute OWL studying to answer some question. Read on, you crazy diamonds, for all the deets.
1. Firstly, you are an absolute STAR, Norah. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day (with OWL examinations and everything) to answer a few questions! So, to start, what was your reaction when you first found out you'd been picked for Prefect?
Oh man. Definitely very screechy and loud, which my mum didn’t appreciate very much, but I was super duper excited. She was the only one home at the time, so I got all loud again when my brothers and dad got home which was totally worth all the disapproving looks. I ran up and down the stairs a whole bunch to get all my excitement out, but once the initial shock wore off I think I was just really confused about why I would ever get picked to be prefect. It took a long time for the shock to wear off, though. I’m still a little shocked now, actually. I guess it’s been surprising and exciting and scary all at the same time ever since I got picked.
2. That was an absolutely adorable answer! So, what does it mean to you that Professor Moxley chose you to represent Hufflepuff house (alongside Aditya Rehman)?
It’s really, really special ‘cause Professor Moxley is one of my very favorite professors EVER. So I’m really grateful that she believed in me enough to pick me for the position. But I do worry that she may be off her rocker just a little bit ‘cause it’s almost been the entire term and I still haven’t really figured out why I could possibly deserve such a cool badge. Marigold left some pretty big shoes to fill, but I hope I haven’t done the Hufflepuffs too much of an injustice. They’re a pretty cool bunch, I’d never want to let ‘em down.
3. You were picked because you're an absolute sweetheart, and truly an example to be followed! Ahem, with things being fairly calm this term, did you feel you were more able to focus on your studies? Do you have a favorite subject?
I’m not very good at focusing, so I’m sure it’s been easier this term than if there were big spiders running around or something awful like that. It’s still been hard, though, because OWLs are such a big deal and need so much attention and there’s only so long I can read for without my head feeling like it’s gonna explode. Does that ever happen to you? ‘Cause it happens to me a lot. I never feel that way about Herbology ‘cause it’s my favorite subject by far. I just love love love plants and it’s been awesome to have Professor Myers here for my OWL year because he’s such a great professor. So I could read about Herbology forever, but everything else is harder. Okay fine, maybe not forever, but at least for long enough for it to feel like forever.
4. I also love Herbology! Professor Myers is so utterly brilliant with his teaching style and his relaxation methods. Ugh! Gosh, I'm gushing. Anyway, there were loads of fun and innovative camps this term. Did you have a favorite?
Ooooh, this is a hard one. All the camps were such a blast, whoever came up with all of them deserves a really big hug. I don’t think I can pick a favorite, but I especially loved the Memory Mural part of the winter one. Y’know, with the igloo? The food was awesome and the memory mural was such a cool idea for pumping up the school spirit.
5. Yes, I loved that they really promoted inter-house relationships this year! Speaking of special events, what was it like planning the Spirit Festival? You guys seem to have a very cohesive team!
I never knew how much work everybody put into the events! It was so much fun to work with everyone to set it up, even if it was a lot to do. I think it was all worth it when we saw everybody having so much fun and being spirited and all that. I never knew a Professor Dunk Tank or a big bouncy house on the grounds could be a reality, but I guess you can never tell with Hogwarts. There’s always something exciting about to happen, and it was cool to be planning it this time. I’ve gotta say, seeing the look on Professor Moxley’s face when she was getting dunked was the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. I hope she doesn’t take away my badge for saying that.
6. Pssh, Professor Moxley is the most down-to-Earth lady around. I think you're safe. So, are there any fun traditions the Hufflepuffs get up to in that cozy common room? I've heard wonderful things about it.
There was loads of super fun stuff in the common room this year, like on top of all the cozy furniture and study tables we had an indoor garden! That was really exciting ‘cause like I said, I love plants. So it may have been new but I bet that’ll become a long-standing tradition because it’s just so nice to have a garden down there. We had a party at the beginning of the term, too. It’s really just a great place to be. The best place ever, if you ask me.
7. Guh, that sounds absolutely amazing! Are there tons of kitchen raids late at night? Your secret would be safe with us!
Oh man. My lips are sealed. But if I’m up late it’s only to study, ‘cause I wake up early to go running and the sunrise is the best part of the entire day. So, I’m not up late a whole lot, and even if I were, I couldn’t just reveal my house’s SECRETS. What kind of loyalty would that be?
8. Okay, okay...we get it. You guys stick together! Switching gears a little, what's it been like working with Adi (since we mentioned him a bit earlier)?
Adi is such a sweet dude. I don’t think I could think of anybody else I’d rather be partners with for my first year of prefect-ing. He’s been at it for so long that he knows everything there is to know about the job, and he’s always nice (even if I do something wrong). I’ve known him since all the way back when I was a firstie, and I think I’ve learned the most from him this term when we worked together, which is saying a lot ‘cause he’s always been teaching me loads. It’ll be tough to see him go, but I know he’ll do lots of radical things out in the real world just like he did here at Hogwarts.
9. That was an absolutely inspirational response. What are you most looking forward to next term? You'll be breaking in a new partner, of sorts!
I’m very excited to not have OWLs anymore, for sure. And even though I’m sad about all the seventh years leaving, getting to meet all the new first years is always one of my favorite parts of term. So, I look forward to that. And of course, I’m excited about a new partner! I don’t know how much I’ll be able to teach him about being a Prefect ‘cause even now, I think I’m still learning, but it’s always great to get to know somebody even better.
10. ...and LASTLY, Ms. Kittredge, if you were a Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean, what flavor would you be?...This is important information!
That’s the best question I’ve ever heard. Do they ask this every year? If they don’t, they definitely should. I’d say they could invent a glitter flavored bean just for me, but when I was little I actually did eat glitter and my throat didn’t appreciate it very much. It was bad news. So, maybe not. I wouldn’t want to be one of those flavors that makes everybody feel sick to their stomachs ‘cause that’d just be mean. So, I think I’ll go with strawberry. Ooh! Or strawberry jam. Yeah, that’s good.
1. Firstly, you are an absolute STAR, Norah. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day (with OWL examinations and everything) to answer a few questions! So, to start, what was your reaction when you first found out you'd been picked for Prefect?
